Summer or Winter... Which Excuse Will You Choose?
It's Never Really About the Weather
Right now it's too hot.
It's too humid.
You're sweating before you've even left the house.
The gym feels unbearable.
Going for a walk sounds like torture.
Fast forward six months...
It's freezing.
It's dark.
The rain is miserable.
You'd rather stay under the blanket than go to the gym.
Different season.
Exactly the same outcome.
The weather changed.
Your habits didn't.
Your Brain Loves Comfort
Your brain's job isn't to help you get fitter.
Its job is to keep you comfortable.
Whenever something feels difficult, it'll start negotiating.
"It's only one workout."
"You've had a busy day."
"You can start again tomorrow."
"It'll be cooler next week."
"It's too cold today."
The excuse simply changes with the season.
If it isn't the weather, it'll be work.
If it isn't work, it'll be your energy.
If it isn't your energy, it'll be your motivation.
There will always be something.
Conditions Will Never Be Perfect
Think about everything people blame.
It's too hot.
It's too cold.
I'm too busy.
I'm too tired.
I'll start after my holiday.
I'll wait until Monday.
I'll begin in January.
I'll get back into it when life calms down.
Life doesn't magically calm down.
New challenges just replace the old ones.
If you're waiting for the perfect moment, you'll spend years waiting.
The People Who Get Results Aren't More Motivated
This is the biggest misconception.
People often assume disciplined people wake up excited to train every day.
They don't.
They just don't negotiate with themselves as often.
When they've planned a workout, they do it.
When their step goal is 10,000, they find a way to get it done.
Not because they always feel like it.
Because they've decided their future matters more than today's comfort.
You Don't Need Perfection
Missing one workout isn't the problem.
Having a lazy Sunday isn't the problem.
Taking a rest day isn't the problem.
The problem is convincing yourself that every uncomfortable situation is a valid reason to stop.
Consistency isn't built by never missing.
It's built by getting back to it quickly.
Ask Yourself One Question
The next time you're about to skip your workout because of the weather...
Ask yourself:
"If the weather were perfect today, would I still find another reason?"
If the answer is yes...
You already know the problem isn't the temperature.
Final Thoughts
Summer will end.
Winter will end.
The rain will stop.
The heatwave will pass.
There will always be another reason not to train.
The people who transform their bodies aren't the ones with perfect conditions.
They're the ones who stop waiting for them.
